Peace Pole Dedication
The Missouri Conference United Methodist Men will be presenting a Peace Pole to the Missouri Conference Center in Columbia in honor of Mel and Barbara West on October 12 at 9:00 am. The presentation will be in conjunction with the regular weekly chapel service and will be held outside (weather permitting).
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
To mark Hispanic Heritage Month, the Rev. Dr. Lydia Muñoz writes about efforts by The United Methodist Church to include the diverse cultures of Latinx people in its tapestry. That includes the founding of Methodists Associated Representing the Cause of Hispanic Americans in 1971, and the National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry in 1992. Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15 - Oct. 15.
