I just wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you.

Since I announced I was running for re-election, the response from this team has been incredible. The outpouring of support truly means the world to me.

I couldn’t be prouder of what we are building here. Grassroots support has allowed us to really invest in building power for our movement. The victories ahead — on gun safety and our shared progressive values — will only be possible because of you and the investments your support allows us to make.

And we’re helping to reshape our democracy and our politics along the way. We have hit ambitious goals, just like we did with Saturday’s FEC deadline, without taking a dime of PAC and corporate money. Our example is proving that a better way to fund campaigns is possible.

There’s still plenty of hard work and tough fights ahead. Before we know it, we’ll have an opponent backed by the gun lobby, the oil and gas industry and all of the other corporate special interests who are working to defeat me.

But I’m optimistic — not just about this campaign but about our future — because I have seen what we are capable of together. So long as we keep it up, we are going to win. And when that happens, every donor, volunteer and supporter will own a piece of our victories.
