As we continue to combat the devastating impacts of climate change, we must take action to address this escalating crisis. We have taken steps already: accelerating clean energy investments, reversing Trump era oil and gas leases, and now, President Biden has launched a climate corps to train young people in conservation and clean energy jobs.
Last week, climate advocates and activists united for the call: We need to take strides, and that starts by stopping our usage of fossil fuels. Yet, the U.S. is actively expanding fossil fuels.
President Biden can stop this now.

The Biden administration can declare climate an emergency under the National Emergencies Act, deny approvals for any new fossil fuel projects, and mandate a phase out of fossil fuel production on federal lands and waters.
Climate change is already an emergency–we need an emergency declaration and an immediate end to fossil fuel project approvals. It’s time for the Biden administration to step up and act before it’s too late.
