1️⃣ We're so proud to share that California Gov. Gavin Newsom will appoint President Laphonza Butler to fill the seat of the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein. She will be the only Black woman serving in the U.S. Senate and the first openly LGBTQ+ person to represent California in the chamber. And as a champion for reproductive freedom and labor rights, we know that Laphonza will serve the people of California honorably.
2️⃣ We just endorsed state Rep. Lori Stone for mayor of Warren, Michigan, and we have a number of exciting state and local endorsements coming down the pike this month, so be sure to stay tuned for those!
3️⃣ We're gearing up for major elections in Virginia next month, and these final days of outreach are make-or-break for our endorsed candidates. Virginia is the last state in the South without an abortion ban — which means that if we don't regain our majority in the state House, the reproductive rights of millions are at stake.
