Let's talk, John. I want to share some of my thoughts with you this morning.

First, thank you to everyone who generously contributed to my campaign before our third end-of-quarter deadline.

Over the weekend, we passed legislation to avoid a government shutdown in the nick of time. But the only reason we got so close to disaster was because of Speaker McCarthy and the extremist wing of the GOP's leadership failures. Instead of focusing on solving America's pressing issues, we're busy dealing with their political games.

The Democrats are the adults in the room. Together, we prevented what would have been an enormous blow to the American people and our economy. But we're not out of the woods yet.

In 45 days, we could be back to square one – with House Republicans holding our economy and the American people hostage. This has to stop.
