Today, I'm writing about the other Sept 30th deadline. On Saturday, Democrats bailed out Speaker McCarthy and House Republicans by helping to pass a temporary spending plan to prevent a government shutdown. The key word is temporary. The resolution funds the Federal government for 45 days to give lawmakers time to work out a longer term solution.
That's good news, but the Freedom Caucus, led by my opponent, Scott Perry is already back at it creating chaos in the House, and virtually ensuring another showdown in the next 45 days.
We can't run our government this way. The Freedom Caucus is really the Chaos Caucus, and they must be stopped! Donate now to help us defeat "Chaos Caucus" Chair Scott Perry in 2024.
At the heart of the budget debate are the Chaos Caucus' demands for spending cuts that would harm our country in countless ways, and they will do almost anything to pass their radical agenda.
In fact Chaos Caucus member Matt Gaetz is already trying to vacate Kevin McCarthy's position as Speaker. Why? Because radical House Republicans are furious that McCarthy worked with Democrats to do the right thing and avoid a shutdown that would have hurt American families.
Congress should be working to come up with a real spending plan that they can pass before the November deadline. Instead, Scott Perry's Chaos Caucus is busy trying to make Congress even more dysfunctional.
