As leaders converge for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meetings in Marrakech next week, the transition to a low-carbon global economy is high on the agenda. The global race to reduce carbon emissions could yield significant benefits, from job creation to mitigation of climate change-related health issues. Without careful management, however, this transition could also exacerbate inequities faced by the world's most vulnerable populations. Join Foreign Policy and the Environmental Defense Fund as we convene voices across government, private sector and civil society to explore the policies, partnerships and innovative financing mechanisms to safeguard vulnerable populations through the transition to lower-carbon and more climate-resilient economies. |
