Action Needed: Fulton County
Fulton County has been in the national headlines for years: from its unsecure and unhealthy jail, to rampant unprosecuted crime, to infamous political indictments.
Now, they have their sights set on using taxpayer money to support abortion.
Fulton County Commissioner Dana Barrett (District 3) sponsored a resolution that authorizes the County to enter into contract with Access Reproductive Care - Southeast, Inc., also known as ARC. ARC, is a non-profit that not only pays for abortions, but also provides transportation to appointments, childcare, and language interpreters. Transportation can be out of state. We call that Abortion Trafficking.
The resolution authorizes the county to divert $300,000 from its Healthcare Reserve fund to ARC as a “donation.” Being a donation, there will be no accountability for how the funds are used, no bidding process, no oversight, no vetting of the organization.
This action would match the same “donation” amount made by the City of Atlanta in 2022 to the National Network of Abortion Funds. If the Fulton resolution passes, taxpayers in Atlanta - Fulton would be contributing $600,000 for abortion, not healthcare. This egregious use of taxpayer monies could spread to other Georgia counties.
The timing of this resolution is no accident.
October is Respect Life month.
