Honoring Carter Brown and the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition

October 27, 2023

You're invited to an evening of trans joy and honoring incredible leaders in our movement! One of those leaders is the amazing Carter Brown, the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the National Black Trans Advocacy Coalition (BTAC)!

Carter has played a pivotal role in advancing the rights and well-being of Black transgender individuals. As a transgender man who understands the challenges of marginalized communities firsthand, Carter established BTAC in 2011, making it the FIRST national, Black trans-led non-profit organization.

His unwavering commitment to ending violence, addressing HIV disparities, combating employment discrimination, and tackling other critical issues faced by Black transgender people has been the driving force behind BTAC's impactful initiatives. With over a decade of dedicated engagement with transgender communities, Carter Brown's leadership has elevated BTAC's community organizing and programming to an indispensable position within the quest for equality.

Carter's tireless advocacy and leadership continue to be instrumental in advancing equity for Black transgender individuals and the broader LGBTQ+ community. We're honored to recognize his extraordinary achievements.

Come celebrate our vibrant transgender community and honor Carter alongside our other advocates on Friday, October 27! Join us in Washington, D.C. for a formal reception, dinner, and program, stop by for the afterparty, or tune in to our free live broadcast of this hybrid event designed to include everyone.
