John,

The sacrifices Autoworkers made in 2008 helped the auto industry survive the Great Recession.

Now that the industry is back, the CEOs at some of the country’s largest car manufacturers are seeing a 40 percent increase in pay in just four years, while workers have been left behind. Right now, the average autoworker works 60 to 70 hours a week, sometimes for less than $20 an hour, while CEOs make 300 times more money.

Speaking with striking auto workers in Wayne, Michigan, the consensus was clear: They deserve their fair share for what they do and what they’ve lost.

Auto workers need to regain what they forfeited fifteen years ago. They need wages that support their families and reflect the industry’s success following the recession. They need a guarantee that their jobs are secure as we transition to electric vehicles. In short, their treatment must reflect the value they create for these companies.

Sign if you agree: It’s time for UAW workers to get the wages they deserve. [[link removed]]
