NEW: Michigan GOP lawmakers file lawsuit to void voter-approved election proposals
Sign our petition to denounce this anti-democratic lawsuit that undermines ballot access and hurts voters >>
In 2022, Michigan voters overwhelmingly passed a sweeping ballot initiative, Promote the Vote, that:
-
Boosts the number of ballot dropboxes,
-
Expands elections to nine days of early, in-person voting,
-
Requires state-funded postage for absentee ballots and absentee ballot applications
But now, anti-democracy Republicans in the state are trying to undermine voters by pushing a lawsuit to OVERTURN this initiative – despite the fact that it passed with 60 percent of the vote!
Yet again, the GOP is showing us they have no interest in expanding voting rights -- they’re only interested in suppressing them.
We’re putting together a petition to denounce this anti-democratic lawsuit, and we need 5,000 grassroots signatures today. Can you add your name now?
