You can send a powerful message right now by helping me advance in this jungle primary against my bigoted opponent. View in browser

John,

My opponent thinks that women’s sports are under assault—and big government needs to step in to protect it.

The threat is not, of course, due to grossly unequal pay for female athletes at the professional level; or rampant exploitation and abuse by coaches and managers; or severely under-funded high school and collegiate programs that divert millions of dollars only to men’s athletics and new stadiums and facilities for men.

No, none of that. Instead, she believes that women’s sports need to be protected from…transgender athletes. So last year, she sponsored and fought for passage of a bill that would ban transgender athletes who identify as female from participating in women’s sports—in the name of protecting “what women have worked to accomplish” in education and women’s athletics.

I had no idea there was such a widespread, systemic problem in women’s sports that required a very specific state law that targets a very small, very specific subset of people to correct! That’s because, of course, the “problem” is completely fabricated. And the “solution” is nothing more than yet another empty, harmful culture war tactic to fire up angry and ignorant voters who have been primed by right wing media to hate and misunderstand transgender people.

Bigots who target already-vulnerable folks who just want to be free to live their lives in peace, and who create non-existent issues to score cheap political points at the expense of real human beings don’t belong anywhere near positions of power and influence.

I am running to unseat this person, and will oppose anyone and anything that attempts to scapegoat and fearmonger LGBTQ+ people for political gain. It’s disgusting, and pathetic, and not what the majority of people anywhere actually want their politicians to do.

That’s why I am in this fight, and why I will never give up—I pledge to fight back and stand up to bullies like my opponent in this race, who think it’s their job to punch down and hurt real people. And it’s why I ask for your support so often: I will relentlessly fight for what is right, John, but I need you on my side to win:
