Today is the 17th anniversary of the creation of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). But this is no joyous anniversary, Friend.
17 years isn’t a very long time. At the same time, we can't deny that with the unmeasurable amount of suffering ICE has brought our communities, 17 years feels like a lifetime.
Often, when we talk about getting rid of ICE, folks seem perplexed. The reality is that our country has lived without ICE before. And in fact, ICE was created pretty recently.

It’s been 17 long years of torture and suffering for our immigrant communities, and we don’t look forward to another anniversary of this horrible government agency existing.
Because of ICE, there have been millions of families separated, and thousands have been caged in detention camps. It is time to let go of ICE, we don’t need that toxicity in our lives Friend.
