UWDA’s Squad is a group of dedicated, passionate young leaders from around the country who come together to make change happen. ✊
Last week, Squad leaders held a call where they engaged in an activity about the intersectionality of immigration with other issues like economic status, access to healthcare, LGBTQ+ rights, and more as a way to understand why a unified force is needed to win in 2024.
Here’s how the Squad works: Squad leaders are constantly working to identify new members, giving them support and training, and then empowering them to become leaders in their own communities.
For example, UWDA’s social media team recently led a training to Squad members on harnessing the power of social media to amplify their voices — so now Squad members across the country are using Instagram and TikTok to engage their own networks on UWDA’s mission! 🤳
That’s the power of distributed organizing — when Squad members are empowered to organize and lead their own communities, our impact can be 100 times greater! 📈
