Dear John,
The carbon tax makes your groceries more expensive.
You already knew that. But did you know that you now have a great opportunity to push the government to provide you some relief from the carbon tax?
Members of Parliament passed Bill C-243. It would remove the carbon tax on the natural gas and propane that farmers use to dry grain and heat their barns. That would help Canadian farmers and lower the prices you pay for groceries.
Here’s the hold up: Bill C-243 hasn’t become law yet because the Senate is stalling.
It’s ridiculous. The clear majority of MPs voted in favour of this legislation, including the Bloc, Conservatives, NDP and Greens. Even a few Liberals voted for it. But the Senate is sitting on its hands.
The cost is HUGE: the delay has already cost farmers almost $100 million, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer.
And it’ll only get worse. By 2030, the carbon tax on farms will have cost about a billion dollars.
More Canadians need to know about this.
I have two favours to ask:
* Please WATCH the YouTube Video – I explain this issue on YouTube. I hope you like it and if you watch it, YouTube will be more likely to share it with other Canadians. Here’s the LINK: [link removed] ([link removed])
* Please SHARE the YouTube Video – pretty simple, right? If you share the link, more people will see it and YouTube will push it more too.
That’s it. Just watching and sharing the video will let more Canadians know what’s happening. And that’s a great way to crank up the pressure on these stonewalling senators.
But stay tuned: we have more campaigns cooking to get these senators moving.
Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
Sincerely,
* Franco
