Recently, federal district judges declared that the legislature's proposed congressional map in Alabama was a woefully insufficient remedy to the illegal gerrymandering that has existed there for far too long. This decision marks a monumental stride towards fair representation, and it sends an unambiguous message -- attempts to diminish our rights as voters will be met with unyielding resistance.

But, my friends, our work is far from done. In Georgia, for example, the fight for fairness continues on as we confront gerrymandered maps that dilute the voting power of communities of color. Our affiliate stands at the forefront of these critical redistricting challenges.
