Margarita to Report $1 Million Raised
(Del Mar, Calif.) - Univision executive Margarita Wilkinson, a Republican running for California’s 49th Congressional District, announced that she will report $1 million in her campaign for the Sept. 30 FEC reporting period.
“Washington is broken and I’m committed to doing what is necessary to defeat Mike Levin and fight for the people who are being left behind in our economy,” said Wilkinson. “Since Levin was elected, the cost of living has increased 44%, gas prices are up 85%, housing prices are up 39%, and homelessness is up 21%. This isn’t about Republicans or Democrats, it’s about effectiveness. Mike Levin has voted with Joe Biden 100% of the time - that is not leadership, that is partisanship.” |
“The crisis at our southern border is out-of-control and Mike Levin has been MIA, earning an “F” from NumbersUSA. In the five years he’s been in office, border enforcement actions have increased 404% with more than 7 million entering the country illegally,” continued Wilkinson. “We are now seeing a record surge in migrants and our immigration detention centers are beyond capacity.Something needs to be done.”
Margarita has the endorsements of San Marco Mayor Rebecca Jones, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, former San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar, and former San Diego Councilmembers Chris Cate and Scott Sherman.
Levin reported raising $1.2 million in the first six months of the year, with $865,000 in the bank. He spent $6.5 million in 2022, narrowly winning in a district Gavin Newsom won by <1%. PVI for the 49th District is D+3 according to the Cook Political Report. |
