In the U.S., Black, brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities face the worst impacts of climate change and pollution.
Last year, Reps. Donald McEachin and Raúl M. Grijalva spearheaded a landmark bill with input from frontline communities. The outcome: the Environmental Justice for All Act, the most significant effort by the federal government to address long-standing environmental racism.

Everyone has the right to breathe clean air, drink safe water, and live a toxin-free life. Unfortunately, for millions, the harsh truth is a life burdened by severe pollution—a glaring injustice that demands immediate and transformative action.
The Environmental Justice for All Act would:
- Allow frontline communities to hold polluters accountable and strengthen laws against pollution;
- Explicitly prohibit environmental injustice and discrimination based on race, color, or national origin;
- Direct agencies to prepare community impact reports that assess the potential impacts of their actions on environmental justice communities.
By supporting the Environmental Justice for All Act, we have a unique opportunity to chart a new path and better serve those who have been unjustly burdened by the ravages of climate change and pollution and pave the way for remedying a long history of environmental harm and racism.
Sign the petition: Congress must address generations of environmental racism. Pass the Environmental Justice for All Act.
