Governor DeWine Appoints Welty to Sandusky County Court District One
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the appointment of Cynthia A. Welty to the Sandusky County Court District One.?
Welty, of Clyde, will assume office on October 16, 2023, and will be taking the seat formerly held by?the Honorable John Kolesar. Welty will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and need to run for election in 2024 to retain the seat.?
Welty has more than two decades of legal experience. She has been a practicing attorney, taught criminal justice classes at Terra State Community College, and was a Magistrate at the Sandusky County Court of Common Pleas. Welty formerly served as acting judge for the Fremont Municipal Court. Currently, Welty serves as acting judge for the Sandusky County Court District One, in addition to owning her own law firm.?
A two-time graduate of the University of Toledo, Welty earned a bachelor's degree in general studies in 1999 and a juris doctor in 2001. In 1989, Welty earned an associate degree in applied science as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Owens Technical College, and in 1982, she obtained a Practical Nurse License (LPN) from Bowling Green Area School of Practical Nursing.?
Serving her community, Welty is an Ace Mentor at Fremont High School and a member of Keep The Dreams Alive in Sandusky County.?
