Announcing the recipient of the Bruce F. Vento Award... U.S. Representative Barbara Lee!
This non-partisan award honors the legacy of the late Congressman Bruce F. Vento, our friend and supporter, whose leadership made such a difference for unhoused Americans. Representative Barbara Lee has represented the state of California since 1998 and has been a decades-long advocate for the unhoused community including advocating for housing as a human right, championing LGTBQ+ rights, and focusing on the intersections of poverty, child welfare, and racism. The Law Center is thrilled to honor Representative Lee's efforts to make a difference for unhoused Americans through the introduction of several bills championing comprehensive homelessness and affordable housing strategies, including co-sponsoring the Housing for All Act of 2022.

Please consider the following guidelines:
If you have signs of COVID, flu, or any other illness, we prefer you stay home and watch the Human Right to Housing Awards live on various streaming platforms (links will be provided closer to the date).  We request that all attendees who are medically able ensure that they are up to date on all vaccines, including this season's flu vaccine and any COVID boosters that will be newly available in the fall.  We request all attendees take a COVID test prior to travelling for this event, if you are able, especially if you may have been exposed. COVID tests will also be available at the registration table.   Masking is currently optional, but is encouraged if you are able.
