Halloween is quickly approaching, when good-natured tricks and scares mean fun for all. Unfortunately, too many people are working overtime to make fear an all-year affair, and way less fun: I’m talking about the anti-abortion movement.
From criminalizing pregnancy outcomes to hindering doctors’ care to pushing unproven, unethical ‘abortion pill reversal’ and more – all they seem to have are hateful tricks making people unsafe and living in fear.
No one should fear whether or not they can exercise their basic right to bodily autonomy. Let’s keep the scares to haunted houses and corn mazes, and out of halls of government and clinic sidewalks.
