I’ve been talking to you about supporting Democrats up and down the ballot all year – in fact all decade – probably longer even – and tonight, I’m doing it again

I'm headlining the kickoff event of the School Board Integrity Project and I hope you’ll join me there. If you want LGBTQ+ students to feel welcome in our schools, and you’re tired of book bans, this is the group for you.

While our school board races are technically non-partisan, conservatives have been working to pack them for years. I’m glad that there’s finally a progressive answer and proud to be supporting their launch.

Many of you already know that I am a teacher and was president of the Anoka-Hennepin teachers union. One of the students who I met all those years ago is Kyrstin Schuette.

She stood up to the school board and challenged LGBTQ+ discrimination that was rampant in that district at the time and is now leading the School Board Integrity Project. She knows firsthand just how important it is that we pick the right leaders for our school districts.

This is a cause that DFLers need to support.
