Friend,
We are at a historic moment in time.
After decades of work, we are making real change to drug policy in the United States.
Marijuana is being legalized across the country…. overdose prevention centers are saving lives in New York…. and instead of being sent straight to jail in Oregon, people suffering from problematic drug use are offered access to health and addiction services.
We are moving forward and starting to see the change we want to see.
Yet, the more we break free from the oppressive shackles of the drug war, the greater the threats against the progress we have made today, and hope to make tomorrow, from the people who unjustly benefit from oppressive drug war policies.
That is why I’m reaching out to you today with a big ask.
If you can, will you become a DPA Champions with a gift of $1,000?
The Champion Circle is a group of dedicated DPA members who are passionate about our mission and have taken action to play a leadership role in driving our work forward.

Drug policy intersects with all parts of our lives.
It’s why we are forging alliances with activists, impacted people, policymakers, researchers, and other organizations as we work across movements to end this drug war and repair its harm.
Through these alliances we are building expansive political power.
And with this power, comes great threats from those who wish to use the drug war for their own political gains – you hear it all the time, politicians and talking heads blaming our reforms, which are grounded in science and equity, for the problems in society.
It takes a huge number of resources to fight back while pushing forward. And we are looking for Champions like you to take your commitment to the next level – because together, we will end the drug war.
Please, if you can, join the Champions Circle today. Your gift will play a leading role in driving this important work forward. If you are not able to join the Champions Circle today, I still encourage you to sign up for a DPA Membership at any amount, because the more of us there are, the more power we have at this critical moment to end the drug war.
Thank you for all that you do to end the drug war, help advance justice, and save lives!
Sincerely,
Paul
