A cool and breezy final weekend of summer for the Upper Peninsula Picnic at Sagola Township Sportsmen's Club was followed by a warm, sunny first weekend of autumn at Kickin' Brass Gun Range & Training Center in Jackson for the Fall Firearms Festival. Thanks to both venues for hosting us this year and all the volunteers who joined in to put on the events.
Special thanks to Rep. Greg Markannen (R-Hancock), Melody Wagner (R-Gwinn), Rep. Mike Harris (R-Waterford), and Rep. Sarah Lightner (R-Jackson) for participating in the Legislative Q&A at the events as well as to Steve Dulan and Chuck Bates for hosting the Ask an Attorney forum and New Shooter Workshop respectively.
Shooting events this year at the Fall Firearms Festival were directed by MCRGO Master Instructor Joe Rand. Congratulations to all the medalists in the Pistol Marksmanship (Iron Sights), Pistol Marksmanship (Optics), One Handed Pistol (Iron Sights), One Handed Pistol (Optics), Distance Rifle, and Modern Rifle events. We also had an opportunity to test out MCRGO's new interactive Multi-Target Training Simulator prior to its official debut at the Winter 2024 outdoor shows in Novi and Grand Rapids.
Upcoming MCRGO events include the NRA Freedom Fest at Howell this weekend and the MCRGO Annual Meeting 2023 at East Lansing in early December detailed below.
