Armenia. Refugees arriving in Goris meet with UNHCR

Dear John,

Tens of thousands have been forced to flee to Armenia from Karabakh as a decades-long crisis flared up again last week. My colleagues are meeting refugees crossing the border: families who are exhausted and traumatized, in urgent need of emergency aid and psychological support.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is providing immediate support to refugees arriving in Armenia, working closely with authorities and partners. We’ve already delivered critical supplies like bedding and mattresses and we’re bringing in more supplies urgently to help people affected as well as support host families.

Yet as more people arrive by the hour, the situation is getting increasingly desperate.

We are already responding to this crisis, but we need your help to scale up and do more. You can help deliver urgent support to displaced families. Would you be able to make a gift today? Your donation can change lives by delivering critical aid to people forced to flee.

As our response continues, you’ll hear more from my colleagues on the ground soon. In the meantime, thank you for your support, and for standing with people forced to flee.
