Running for president is an exercise in hope and humility, and we continue our campaign from South Carolina and onto Super Tuesday with both.
I’ve been traveling the country asking Americans for their vote, humbled by the knowledge that for so many that vote was won through struggle -- through blood, sweat, and tears -- and within living memory.
I’m proud of the votes we earned, and I’m determined to earn every vote on the road ahead.
If you are ready to come together to end the era of Donald Trump and launch the era that must come next, please make a donation to my campaign tonight. We’re in a sprint to raise $13 million before Tuesday in order to stay competitive.
Right now, as a mounting epidemic threatens our communities and our economy, we are seeing just how much it matters to have serious judgment and a steady temperament in the Oval Office. Not to mention a belief in science and evidence.
So more than ever, we know we cannot afford to get this wrong. We cannot afford four more years of Donald Trump. And that means we cannot afford to succumb to the politics that have failed us.
We can’t go on with a politics that has us at each other’s throats, instead of having each other’s backs.
We can’t go on with a politics that defines us by who we voted for in the last election, instead of by what we can achieve together.
A politics that small cannot meet this moment.
Because the challenges of this moment are different: pandemics crossing borders; climate catastrophe on our doorstep; automation and globalization rippling through our economy in new ways.
Americans are watching the cost of housing and health care rise and rise while wages can’t keep pace. With so much at stake, we must be prepared to meet these challenges of the future.
Americans are yearning for a new kind of leadership. We’re hungry to be a country united in common purpose. We know that if we are to tackle these challenges, we must come together to write a new future.
So let’s make this election about that future -- one where every American belongs. If you can, please chip in tonight.
That is how we win -- it’s how we’ve always won.
