Because of your support, our campaign hit another milestone today: I attended my first ever forum as a candidate, hosted by the Pierce County Democrats. My opponent, Derek Kilmer, chose to give a speech and leave before questions started, but that’s OK.
When I said that if you’ve taken $3 million from corporate PACs, you can’t call yourself a national leader on getting money out of politics, people cheered.
When I said I’m proud to be the only candidate in the race who agrees with the WA Democratic Party that we should have single-payer healthcare, people cheered.
When I said that the Green New Deal is the only scientifically acceptable solution to the climate crisis and that I’m the only candidate in the race who’s for it, people cheered.
People are ready for a change. They’re sick of Corporate Kilmer’s establishment way of doing business, and they’re excited about our new, winning approach: grassroots donors who believe in our progressive vision of healthcare, housing, and jobs for all.
