Elise Releases Statement on Supreme Court's Consideration of the Challenge to Gov. Hochul's Unconstitutional Gun Control Requirements
In August, Elise led New York Republicans in sending a letter to New York Governor Kathy Hochul urging changes to the new legislation targeting law-abiding gun owners. The new law has caused severe delays in the processing of background checks and imposes a new tax on lawful gun owners in New York State. Now, the Supreme Court has agreed to consider the challenge! Elise stated:
"Last month, I led my New York Republican colleagues in demanding Governor Kathy Hochul delay her unconstitutional anti-Second Amendment action. Constituents in my Congressional District have made their frustration known loud and clear. Gov. Hochul's state-run background check system and tax on Constitutional rights are causing serious delays and false denials. I have heard from constituents, including former law enforcement officials, who have successfully purchased a firearm only to be denied the ability to purchase ammunition. The delays are also causing community firearm retailers to lose customers who say they aren't going to wait and instead go to neighboring states for ammunition to avoid the state registration and extra taxes. Taxing law-abiding New Yorkers and delaying
and denying their Second Amendment rights must end - full stop. I applaud Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for rightfully considering a challenge to New York's new illegal anti-2nd Amendment law. I will do everything possible to bring this unconstitutional siege on our God-given right to bear arms to a grinding halt.”

Elise Named a Conferee for the 2024 National Defense Bill
Earlier this week, Elise was appointed by Speaker McCarthy to serve on the bipartisan, bicameral House-Senate conference committee that is tasked with reconciling the differences and ensuring the successful passage of the FY2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Elise stated:
“As a senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee and the leading advocate for Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, I am honored to be chosen once again as a conferee to ensure the successful passage of this year’s National Defense Authorization Act,” Congresswoman Stefanik said Sept. 19. “As foreign adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea bolster their military capabilities, this defense bill promotes peace through strength, ensuring a strong national defense by fully equipping our troops, increasing our military readiness, and supporting our brave Servicemembers with a well-deserved pay raise. I am deeply grateful to our men and women in uniform, and their families, for the sacrifices they continue to make to defend our nation. I
look forward to working together with my colleagues in the House and the Senate to conference a strong, bipartisan defense bill that will elevate the priorities of Upstate New York and the North Country to the highest levels.”
Elise Releases Statement on Kathy Hochul Using State Resources to Mask Her Reckless Sanctuary-State Policies to Further Incentivize Illegal Immigration
Kathy Hochul is at it again, fueling New York’s illegal immigration crisis. This week, Hochul announced that 150 National Guard members will be deployed not to secure our border, but to process illegal immigrants in New York City so that they can receive further taxpayer-funded benefits– which we all know is a further incentive for illegal immigrants to come to our state. IT MUST END. Elise stated:
“Governor Kathy Hochul and New York’s Far Left Democrats are responsible for incentivizing the raging illegal immigration crisis that is devastating New York. Instead of bringing in the National Guard to New York City to by their own admission, process the illegal immigrants to receive taxpayer funded benefits, Hochul should call on Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer to secure our Southern and Northern Borders by passing and signing into law House Republicans’ Secure the Border Act, the strongest border security bill in history.”
FOX NEWS: Elise and House Republicans — “Joe Biden LIED”
On Thursday, House Republicans held the first impeachment inquiry hearing, and Joe Biden was caught in his own lie. It was confirmed that while serving as Vice President, Joe Biden was in conversation with his son Hunter in overseas business dealings– despite his own narrative stating that he was ‘never in business with his son.’ This was proven to be a lie. Elise stated:
"There can no longer be any dispute that Joe Biden and his staff have repeatedly lied to the American people about his knowledge of and involvement in his son Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings. "House Republicans' rigorous investigations have uncovered mounting evidence that Biden not only knew about Hunter's business dealings from phone calls to meetings, but was a willing participant. This week, House Oversight Chairman James Comes released evidence that Hunter Biden listed Joe Biden's house as the beneficiary address for two bank wires from Communist China in 2019 - while Joe Biden was actively campaigning to be President of the United States. It is clear the American people that Joe Biden is compromised, and House Republicans will leave no stone unturned as we
deliver transparency and accountability on behalf of the American people."
