Exploit the Product Life Cycle Most alert and thoughtful senior marketing executives are by now familiar with the concept of the product life cycle. Even a handful of uniquely cosmopolitan and up-to-date corporate presidents have familiarized themselves with this tantalizing concept. Yet a recent survey I took of such executives found none who used the concept in any strategic way whatever, and pitifully few who used it in any kind of tactical way. It has remained—as have so many fascinating theories in economics, physics, and sex—a remarkably durable but almost totally unemployed and seemingly unemployable piece of professional baggage whose presence in the rhetoric of professional discussions adds a much-coveted but apparently unattainable legitimacy to the idea that marketing management is somehow a profession. There is, furthermore, a persistent feeling that the life cycle concept adds luster and believability to the insistent claim in certain circles that marketing is close to being some sort of science.1
The concept of the product life cycle is today at about the stage that the Copernican view of the universe was 300 years ago: A lot of people knew about it, but hardly anybody seemed to use it in any effective or productive way.

WorkSix Ways To Rest, Sweat And Recharge At Manua Lani On The Big Island Many of us may feel that waking up early to fit in a morning sweat session is an at-home, work day scenario and that vacation means sleeping in and hitting pause on a workout routine. The sunrise canoe experience at Mauna Lani is a daily, 630am workout that you may have to set an alarm for, but it’s a one-of-a-kind morning experience that is nothing like an at-home routine. After gathering at the surf shack and shuffling an outrigger canoe along the sand into the water with a quick how-to intro, the canoeing group of six to ten paddle along the Kohala Coast to watch the sun rise over Mauna Kea and keep an eye out for dolphins. Spiritual elements underline the experience, and a dive below the canoe into the water is a beautiful cleansing way to start the day.

That offering, combined with the popularity of the complimentary coffee delivery service [guests can order their morning beverage of choice to be delivered to their door by our in-house baristas, along with fresh pastries from a local panaderia], was the inspiration behind Midnight Mezcal. We\'ve blended the two to create a truly personalized turndown experience for guests,” said Ongay.
