John, I know what your inbox looks like right now. Lots of exclamation points & highlights. Urgent, desperate, match!!! Campaign finance in this country is ridiculous, broken and wasteful. But if we want the opportunity to change it, we need to raise the money.

As someone who opened a retail store in my town, it feels very odd to ask people for money and not give them something in return. One thing you learn running your own small business is that every penny matters, good employees who are treated with dignity and respect are invaluable (some of my former employees are working with us on the campaign!) and there’s a difference between an investment and an expense.

Right now, I am asking you to invest in my campaign to take back NY17. I think we need sane, reasonable people in our government more interested in solving problems than becoming political influencers on social media
