Apologies for the redundancy if you've already opened this today or contributed. We respect your inbox frequency and know that these asks can be overwhelming. I can't tell you how grateful I am for your support, loyalty, and generosity. Believe me, there are a billion things I'd rather be doing - like serving the constituency - than shaking folks down for campaign contributions. We desperately need campaign finance reform so the best candidates can concentrate on and advocate for how they'll serve, not how well they are at chasing dollars. But here we are at the end of the quarter, and I need your help. (If you've given already, please skip this ask, and rest assured I will personally reach out very soon to express my gratitude.) -Bob
Join our fight for everyday, hard-working Americans
There's no reason to panic. Sometimes, "urgent" fundraising requests hit people's inboxes at the end of the quarter, and I won't falsely alarm you. The sky isn't falling. Political campaigns use some interesting tactics to raise funds at the end of the quarter: "If we don't hit our goal, we're going to lose!" That is not the case. Politics needs honesty. I know it is rare.
We're close to our goal, but still have much work to do. If you're familiar with how these deadlines work and want to rush a contribution, please do, or read on and let me explain...

With or without the Sept. 30 fundraising deadline established by the FEC, we set an internal goal to hit 2,500 unique donors before the end of quarter. It's a figure based on how much momentum we need to pay my staff, our bills, and save for a field program in the Spring. As of now, we have reached 76% of our Q3 goal. However, we still need to acquire over 500 additional donors before midnight. Transparently, I would be pleasantly surprised if we hit that. Our campaign is expected to remain strong for the rest of the year regardless. Notice how I didn't mention a dollar figure. "We need to raise $10,000 before Friday!" Nope. Look, I fundamentally believe in campaign finance reform. I want to focus on issues, solving problems, listening to and connecting with as many voters as possible, rather than chasing money. That's exactly where money and politics don't mix. No one will buy this election, but we need to show force to stay competitive. And I aim to show a people-power force. I want as many donors as possible - whether you give $2, $10, $20 or more, our quarterly report should reflect the people for whom I am fighting - a lot of real, everyday, hardworking Americans. I reject corporate PACS. I refuse dark money. I have no ultra-wealthy mega-donors. This is pure grassroots, pure people power, and it requires you in my corner. Today, I need your help getting as close to our goal as possible. Friend, I want your name as a contributor on my quarterly report. I would be very grateful. Every day, I try to discuss real issues facing Americans - healthcare, Social Security, infrastructure, childcare, housing, public education, the dangers of a looming shut down and more. Please stand with me to do that the most effective way I know how - advocating and fighting for everyday people as a future Congressman. I appreciate your consideration.
