We may have avoided a shutdown, saving millions of families

Today, House Democrats overwhelmingly voted for a bipartisan agreement to keep the government from shutting down, despite 91 Republican votes in favor of a shutdown.

This agreement was drafted by their own GOP leadership, and still, nearly 100 Republicans in the House voted in favor of a shutdown. This is no surprise, though. It took 15 votes to approve Speaker McCarthy, and House Republicans have remained fractured and led by extreme factions ever since.

This is no way to govern-- House Republicans are chaotic and cannot even agree with their own party leadership, making decision-making nearly impossible with them in leadership.

That is why it is imperative that we flip the House in 2024 – so we can get back to work for the American people rather than push these partisan agendas.

That is also why I am emailing you, John. As a Frontline Democrat, one of the most vulnerable incumbents in the House, our path to victory depends on keeping CT-05 blue. I have a critical end-of-quarter deadline tonight, so if you can, chip in $50, $25, or even just $5 to support my re-election and help flip the House next year.

Thanks for standing with me.

Thank you,
