Hi John,
Valerie here.
Thanks to supporters like you, I became the first Black woman to represent North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District. I ran for Congress because it seemed like every issue foundational to our democracy was at an impasse.
Reproductive justice was in jeopardy, gun violence prevention legislation was at a standstill, and we were reaching Jim Crow-era voting restrictions across the country. We are still struggling with many of the same issues.
But this year alone, Democrats have enacted 70 laws to expand voting rights, we’ve established an Office of Gun Violence Prevention, and we’re working every day to ensure reproductive rights are protected.
We have a lot of work to do. And Republicans aren’t letting their guard down anytime soon.
This is more than winning an election; it’s about safeguarding foundational rights to citizenship. Supporting campaigns like mine is crucial to showing Republicans our movement is strong enough to fight back against their regressive policies.
So, John, will you support my campaign with a $10 contribution ahead of tonight’s FEC quarterly deadline?

I don’t take your support for granted.
Onward,
Valerie
