When executives can afford yachts and multiple vacation homes, yet their workers struggle to afford to pay for housing, that’s a red flag, it’s time for a change.

I’ve been a low-wage worker, and so has AOC. We understand the urgency of everyday people’s struggles to pay the bills. That’s why we’re pushing in Congress for the bold changes our communities deserve.

For example, AOC and I have pushed for a Green New Deal and a Civilian Climate Corps, and our movement for good green jobs just won an important victory when the Biden administration launched the American Climate Corps last week.

I just joined Cori Bush in Wentzville, Missouri to support and talk with striking workers from UAW Local 2250.

When workers demand better, they’re speaking up on behalf of workers everywhere. And thanks to the resurgence of worker organizing, this week President Biden joined UAW strikers in solidarity -- becoming the first President in modern American history to join a union picket line.

We also won a victory in the movement for high-quality, good-paying green jobs last week, as the Biden administration launched the American Climate Corps. The program will create clean energy and climate resilience jobs for more than 20,000 young people in its first year.

This is an important moment in the movement for economic justice, climate justice, and worker power.

Cori Bush and I have been low-wage workers, and our experiences fuel us to push for bold federal action. We’re leading policy solutions that are big enough to match the crises that everyday people are facing.
