John — threats and incitements to violence have no place in our democracy. Period.

But just yesterday, Donald Trump gave the keynote speech at the California Republican Party convention and said this:

“Shifty Adam Schiff. Pencil Neck. If you touched him, his neck would break.”

I'm used to the threats. I've faced them many, many times before. But the mere suggestion from Trump is sure to incite his most deranged supporters to pile on with their attacks on me once again — and we have to respond.
