John,
Earlier today I sent a message about ending poverty and fighting for workers’ rights—including protecting the right to strike, which is a powerful tool to fight corporate greed.
Everyday people have been rising up, building powerful movements for social justice with popular support. This threatens right-wing leaders who maintain power by suppressing our voices. In backlash, they’re increasing fascist repression against activists.
Now, right-wing groups like ALEC are helping state and federal lawmakers try to take away a crucial tool in fights for freedom and equality: our right to boycott. This is an attack on our Constitution and our freedom of speech, one of the most critical rights that we have in our country.
I’ve led successful fights in Congress to defend our civil liberties and our social movements, including reining in mass surveillance. Can you chip in before tonight’s end-of-quarter deadline so I can keep defending our constitutional rights—including our right to oppose oppression?
While fascists ban books and censor conversations about race in schools, U.S. lawmakers and school administrators are also escalating attempts to criminalize and silence Americans who speak out against the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians.
As the only Palestinian American in Congress, I continue to speak up for Palestinian rights and for Americans’ right to voice dissent and to criticize governments.
I’m also one of the few national lawmakers speaking out in support of nonviolent Stop Cop City activists who are facing charges of domestic terrorism.
Our rights are particularly precarious in this period of escalating oppression. But I’m not only defending our rights against unconstitutional attacks, I’m also pushing to expand our civil rights with policies like the Justice for All Act.
Fascists and white supremacists try to distract us, burn us out, and take away our hope. But we must keep dreaming bigger. We cannot back down. We cannot cede ground. We’re so close to winning the transformative changes that our communities deserve.
Please chip in before tonight’s end-of-quarter fundraising deadline to show that our movements for justice and liberation will not be silenced.

John,
You’re an essential part of our movement to end poverty, and we won major victories recently that wouldn’t be possible without you.
We led the call in Congress to remove medical debt from credit reports when we introduced the Restoring Unfairly Impaired Credit & Protecting Consumers Act. Now the Biden administration has announced executive action to do just that. This important step will be life-changing for millions of people whose credit scores impact access to housing and employment.
I’m also honored to join striking UAW workers in my district who are making history fighting corporate greed. I’ve joined workers on the picket line and together we’ve sent hundreds of thousands of messages to the CEOs of the Big Three urging them to immediately meet workers’ demands. Now, this week, President Biden came to Michigan to join striking workers on the picket line—marking the first time a sitting president has done so.
We’re leading the nation and building the power we need to enact sweeping, life-changing policies like universal paid sick leave and healthcare as a human right. None of this would be possible without your support.
Today represents a critical fundraising deadline for our campaign and our movement for change.
Can you chip in to build on our momentum and bring about the meaningful changes our communities desperately need? Our campaign is people-powered, and your donation before midnight tonight will allow us to build on these victories for working and marginalized people.

We can’t continue the piecemeal, inadequate status quo of government services. Our neighbors are struggling to put food on the table, fighting to keep a roof over their heads, and rationing their medication. Most families are living paycheck to paycheck.
But the majority of my colleagues in Congress are millionaires. They don’t understand what it feels like not being able to pay rent or make ends meet.
I grew up in a working-class UAW household, and my lived experience teaches me to lead with compassion. I understand how urgently we need bold federal action for economic justice.
I led the fight for the temporarily expanded Child Tax Credit, which lifted millions of children out of poverty in 2021 and cut child poverty in nearly half. But corporate Democrats and Republicans let it expire. So I introduced legislation to cut childhood poverty by 70%—by providing families with a universal benefit of nearly $400 per month per child.
I’m also fighting alongside restaurant workers to end the shameful federal tipped minimum wage of just $2.13 an hour—a starvation wage. I reintroduced the Restaurant Workers Bill of Rights to ensure thriving wages, require paid leave and healthcare coverage, protect workers’ ability to unionize without fear of retaliation, and more.
Last year, I led the fight in Congress to support rail workers preparing for a historic strike. And I ended up being one of the few Democrats who voted against forcing an unfair contract on them. Congress and the President squashed rail workers’ right to strike. We cannot undermine worker power again.
I’m calling on Democrats to truly be the party of the working class, and to defend the right to strike—which is a powerful tool to fight corporate greed.
Our federal government is supposed to protect everyday people from corporate greed and exploitation. That’s the government I’m building, with your support.
Please chip in before tonight’s end-of-quarter deadline so I can continue to fight like hell for you and your family, and for a thriving democracy that works for all of us—not just the billionaire class.
