Hi, it’s Roland Gutierrez, the Democrat running for the U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz.
It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve lived the American dream. My parents were immigrants to this country. My mother died before my first birthday. Through God’s grace, he put another woman in my path that would be mom.
My parents taught me that if you believe in something, you work for it. That’s what I’ve done my whole life – and that’s why I went into law and public service – San Antonio City Council, State House, and the State Senate.
But on May 24, 2022, the world stopped when a gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. Out of one of the darkest days, the people of Uvalde became more than constituents, they became family. I led the charge to ban assault weapons in our state.
But what happened in Uvalde wasn’t just about guns – it was about neglect – the neglect of the systems in our state that are supposed to keep us safe.
That’s why I’m running for Senate – to deliver a safer, healthier community for the people of Texas.
I want to live in a Texas that’s not burning books. I want to live in a Texas where working-class families can get health care. I want to live in a Texas that doesn’t tell women what to do with their bodies.
It’s time we turned frustration into action. If you’re with me, I hope you’ll pitch in a few bucks before midnight to help me defeat Ted Cruz and deliver a Texas we can be proud of.

Thanks for your support,
Roland Gutierrez
