THE WASHINGTON POST:
“Biden to Create New Office of Gun Violence Prevention” |
John, this is a massive win for our youth-led movement to end gun violence across the country.
Alongside young activists, organizers, and leaders like Congresswoman Lois Frankel, I’m proud to have fought for the creation of a federal office of gun violence prevention.
Ending gun violence has been at the forefront of my campaign. It’s what called me to action – both as the National Organizing Director for March for our Lives and as the first of my generation to be elected to Congress.
My generation has been demanding action. And today, we have real, tangible progress in this fight. Not incremental progress, but a massive push forward.
This is just the beginning. But I know the NRA and gun lobby are plotting revenge against our movement. Congresswoman Frankel and I need to be prepared, so we’re setting out to raise $25,000 over the next 24 hours to keep me in the fight to end gun violence. Can you split a $24 donation to my campaign and Congresswoman Frankel to power our movement for progress? >>

John, they said a young organizer wouldn’t stand a chance against the gun lobby and the NRA-bought Republicans in Congress.
And when I introduced my first bill in Congress to establish a federal office of gun violence prevention, Republicans thought they succeeded in blocking it.
But I never gave up, and neither did Congresswoman Frankel. Now, the Biden Administration is taking action. Our collective power made this happen. This is proof that our youth-powered movement is unstoppable. And we’re just getting started.
So today, we celebrate this win in the fight to end gun violence. Tomorrow, we keep fighting. We keep organizing. We keep making noise. But it’s going to be an uphill battle against major forces that will stop at nothing to crush our progress. That’s why Congresswoman Frankel and I are counting on you to keep our movement strong – both on the ground and in Congress. |
Let’s keep this going, Rep. Maxwell Frost |
