On Sunday, September 24th, America recognized Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day. This day serves as a reminder of the families who have lost a loved one in service to our great Nation. It was an honor to participate in the dedication of the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the Veterans Park in Tupelo

In April 2002, CPL Blake Mounce joined the U.S. Marine Corps. His mother Pat Mounce said Blake had decided to pursue a military career following the attacks on September 11, 2001. Three days after he completed basic training, CPL Mounce married his high school sweetheart, Tiffany. In 2005, CPL Mounce was deployed to Iraq. He was killed by an improvised explosive device that detonated while on a patrol mission. Pat Mounce is among the Gold Star Families who were honored during the ceremony at Veterans Park. We are thankful for these families who make military service possible.

Honoring csm buford babb, jr.

Recently, the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford held a ceremony to dedicate the dining hall in memory of Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Marvin Buford Babb, Jr. Team Kelly's Gold Star Family Fellowship recipient Pam Tolbert represented our office for this important event. CSM Babb dedicated 41 years of his life to the men and women of the Mississippi National Guard. His wife Lavera was present for the ceremony. They were married for 69 years before he passed away on December 15, 2022. CSM Babb is remembered as a man who loved God, Country, and family.
