“This new surge of energy that tells us that our future is unbounded and
unlimited - this is the new Petersburg that we know Petersburg should be. And,

First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin emphasized the importance of September’s
National Recovery Month by hosting a peer recovery breakfast to support
Virginia’s Peer and Family Services. Joined by Governor Glenn Youngkin, the
event was an opportunity to recognize Virginia’s Peer Recovery workers and
promote the critical steps Virginia is taking to build awareness and
understanding around mental health and substance use disorders – two important
issues that the First Lady is focused on through her Women + girls initiative.

Mrs. Youngkin also visited Daily Planet Health Services (DPHS) and learned
about the incredible well-being services they provide to all Virginians,
regardless of qualification status, throughout Richmond and surrounding
counties. The First Lady promoted the generous mission of DPHS to empower
everyone to live healthy, enriched, and stable lives.
