Friend, I’ve written this letter to you and I really hope that you take a
couple minutes to read it, but if you’re strapped for time, here are the
highlights.
My name is Sam Brown, I’m running for U.S. Senate in Nevada.
I was seriously injured while serving in Afghanistan, but in retrospect those
injuries changed my life for the better and gave me the perspective I needed to
become the man I am today.
Today, I’m a husband, father, small businessman, and I’m the frontrunner for
the Republican Senate nomination.
Nevada will be the lynchpin state for both the U.S. Senate and the
Presidential election in 2024.
The most important fundraising deadline of the 2024 cycle is coming up.

Now, here’s my story, Friend.

This is a picture of me and my father.
I don’t remember a time when service to my family, my community, and my
country wasn’t central to my plans for the future.
My dad was the one who raised me to give my life to God and country.
In highschool, I knew that joining the military was a key part of my career
path.
But after the 9/11 attacks, my desire to serve my country transformed from
just a career path into an ironclad resolve and passion.
A few years later, I graduated from West Point and was commissioned as an
infantry officer.
I answered the call from my country to fight in Afghanistan.

Four months into my deployment, my life changed in ways that I couldn’t have
imagined.
My team and I were on our way to provide support to an embattled platoon.
On our way to the engagement zone, my team and ran over a roadside bomb.
It all happened in an instant.
The explosion soaked me in diesel and flames ignited all over my body.
My gunner was able to put out the flames and save my life. If I’d been on fire
for another minute I wouldn’t be writing this message to you today.

I was rushed back to a hospital in Texas where I’d undergo countless surgeries
and 3 years of rehabilitation.
I’m not telling you my story because I want you to pity me or see me as a hero.
Certainly, I’m not the first or last person to be injured in the line of duty.
I want you to know my story because I hope that it’ll give you confidence that
I’m not a regular politician who will arrive in Washington D.C. and on day one
and forget about the people I serve or those who’ve fought to defend our
country.

Friend, God’s plans for my life were far better than anything I could’ve come
up with…
And, in retrospect, my injuries weren’t the end of my life… Rather, they were
the beginning of a new one.
While recovering from my injuries, I met my wife Amy, and since then we’ve had
3 incredible children.
While working a warehouse job, I built a business that gave me the opportunity
to continue to serve Americans by sprinting around the red tape and providing
emergency pharmaceutical care to veterans outside of the Veterans Health
Administration.
