Today is a sad day as we learn the news of Senator Diane Feinstein’s passing.

Senator Dianne Feinstein was a trailblazer and an inspiration for women and Californians, including myself. She shattered glass ceilings – becoming California’s first female Senator and the longest serving woman in the Senate. Her contributions to the state of California and the entire nation are too numerous to count. She dedicated her life to tackling and solving our most pressing and challenging problems.

But above her titles and accomplishments, she was also a dear friend. On behalf of the entire Sacramento region, I express my deepest condolences to her entire family. She leaves an incredible legacy, and we will miss her strong leadership. She made our state and our country a better place for all.
