Hi John,
I’m reaching out to ask you for a favor, and it has to do with my husband, Hank.
He’s been real worried this week, even as he was busy on his court reform package in DC. Hank knows that if we don’t hit our internal fundraising goals, that we won’t be able to replicate the success we had in 2020 in turning Georgia blue for Joe Biden.
But it goes deeper than that with Hank. He’s also worried about his constituents and what’s happening to their voting rights as Gov. Kemp and the GOP legislature have enacted voter suppression bills that are meant to make it harder for people of color to vote.
Suppressing the Black vote is an ugly thing, and it’s particularly egregious in Georgia and across the South because we’ve been down this road before. We’ve seen where it leads.
Hank is a champion for the voters in his district. In fact, he’s a champion for voters everywhere. He knows that our democracy only works when it’s allowed to work. That means that everyone has a say, and that every voice can be heard.
That’s why he’s holding himself to a high standard. It’s why he peacefully protested the lack of movement on voting rights legislation at the U.S. Senate two years ago and was arrested. It’s why he’s stressing about hitting our fundraising targets now. And it’s why he’s set an ambitious end-of-quarter goal to make sure we do all we can to help people have their voices heard.
So I’m asking you, John: Will you please make a donation toward Hank’s $7,000 goal and help him continue to fight for voting rights?

Thank you so much for your support.
All the best,
Mereda
