I have breaking news to share, John.
Donald Trump is giving his keynote speech at the California Republican Party convention — and he dedicated a portion to attacking me.
Here’s what he said:
"And then you have, of course, my favorite: Shifty Adam Schiff. Pencil Neck. He's known for one thing — the world's smallest neck. I call him Pencil Neck. If you touched him, his neck would break... Shifty Schiff is really a sick person. Looks like he won't be the next Senator anymore... I don't think he would've won anyway."
Trump is attacking me because he knows I am effective. He fears what I can — and will — do as a Senator to stand up to his MAGA allies.
Because when I stood up to him, I secured the first bipartisan vote in history to convict a sitting president in his Senate impeachment trial.
Because I shined a light on what happened on January 6 — and his involvement trying to usurp our democracy.
Because the evidence I gathered on the January 6 Committee has helped authorities make a case to indict him.
Because he knows I will hold those who abuse their power accountable — whether it’s him, megacorporations, or any other special interests that are rigging the rules against hardworking families.
