Hi there, it’s Olivia — Ayanna’s Finance Director.
Tomorrow marks the third FEC deadline of the year, and that means our fundraising numbers from this past quarter will become public. I want to share a few reasons why this particular deadline is so important to our campaign:
- The number of contributions we receive on this report — no matter the amount donated — will tell a powerful story about how many supporters believe in what Ayanna is fighting for. A contribution from you will show that people from District of Columbia support policies like access to abortion care, housing justice, and student debt cancelation.
- As Congress debates the budget plan, and as a Republican government shutdown looms, it’s even more critical that we show that the policies we’re fighting for have strong support, and that we have the resources to continue campaigning for these policies and making progress for working people.
- What’s more, our next fundraising report is a chance for us to say Ayanna and her people-centered agenda are undeniably popular — particularly to the GOP presidential candidates who try to attack her.
