Tenant & Worker Solidarity March: Because the Rent is Too High & the Wages are Too Low!!
In the midst of historic strikes across Los Angeles, hundreds of tenants, workers and community members will march tomorrow (Saturday, 9/30) in downtown to protest high rents and low wages. Our demands:
- Cancel rent debt
- Full implementation of the new (and so far unenforced) Tenant Anti-Harassment Ordinance (TAHO)
- Implement a citywide housing wage
- Cap rent stabilization increases
- Strengthen city code enforcement
- Fully staff Los Angeles Housing Dept
- Fair access to housing- remove discriminatory barriers for our community members who are undocumented, formerly incarcerated, and youth
- Create social housing in LA

Join us for inaugural canvasses for Fare-Free Transit!
Come join the Mass Transit campaign this Sunday at 11am for our first canvasses for fare-free transit in LA! No canvassing experience is necessary; we'll spend some time at the beginning training and practicing together.
We'll be having simultaneous canvasses at THREE locations THIS SUNDAY (October 1) at 11am:
The goal of these canvasses is to grow our movement of transit riders to pressure the Metro Board and City Council to implement fare-free transit and expanded services at Metro stops. We will be surveying riders about their experiences riding Metro and calling on them to sign a postcard to Mayor Bass to call on her to fulfill her campaign promise of abolishing transit fares in LA.
Socialists know that solidarity is a verb, not a noun! Let's build worker power together!
