Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine wished the Jewish community a meaningful Yom Kippur.?
Lt. Governor Husted, Director of InnovateOhio, announced the state?s DataOhio Portal has been recognized by the Center for Digital Government with a 2023 Government Experience Project Award. Launched in 2020 by Lt. Governor Husted in partnership with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services? (DAS) InnovateOhio Platform, the portal significantly expands access to key State of Ohio data increasing transparency, empowering the public, and informing policy and state programming to better serve Ohio communities.
?The development of the portal was motivated by improving customer service for all Ohioans,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?DataOhio makes information?available in an efficient and organized way so that it can be meaningful and usable and ultimately provides a greater value in advancing the public good. We appreciate the recognition of our work.?

Governor DeWine announced details of a new program to help victim service agencies meet the needs of survivors of human trafficking.?
The new Direct Services for Victims of Human Trafficking Grant Program was created by Governor DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly as part of Ohio's new operating budget.?A total of $4 million in funding is now available for nonprofit organizations to help them adequately serve the growing number of sex and labor trafficking victims in need of support.??
?As awareness of human trafficking grows, the number of identified victims also increases, so it is absolutely critical that our local service programs have enough resources," said Governor DeWine. "This infusion of grant funding will help ensure that support for trafficking victims is widely available.?

Governor DeWine announced the appointment of Jennifer J. Ciccone to the Struthers Municipal Court.?
Ciccone, of Poland, will assume office on Oct. 6, 2023, and will be taking the seat formally held by Judge Dominic Leone. Ciccone will serve the remainder of the unfinished term and will need to run for election in November 2023 to retain the seat.?
Also on Friday, Governor DeWine?announced details of a new program that will increase the number of quality driver training programs in Ohio.
The new Creating Opportunities for Driver Education Grant Program aims to provide more opportunities for teens to access affordable, quality driver education. The grants will be used to help educational service centers, school districts, and career technical schools establish or expand driver training programs in the high schools they serve.
?Driver training programs are critical to establishing safe driving habits for Ohio?s youth,? said Governor DeWine. ?By bringing more affordable training options to the schools where students are, more teens will learn valuable driving skills in communities where there is currently limited or no access to driver training schools.?
