My name is Fred Guttenberg. Since losing my daughter, Jaime, in the Parkland school shooting over five years ago, I’ve dedicated my life to trying to prevent more gun violence tragedies in America.

John, I remain hopeful because of the great people I have the good fortune of meeting, and Dr. Williams is one of them. He is a person who is putting himself out there because of what he has seen, and I know we need leaders like him to deal with the reality of gun violence in this country.

Working in the trauma centers across the country, Brian treated the never-ending flow of victims of gun violence, and he has had to tell far too many mothers that their children had died from gun violence. After a shooting in Dallas in 2016, he became the only surgeon in history to operate on multiple on-duty police officers victimized in a mass shooting. Ever since that night, he’s advocated for gun safety and an end to the epidemic of gun violence.
