It was great to see familiar faces in Washington this week. I had the chance to visit with the Oklahoma Bankers Association and discuss the issues currently affecting the banking industry, as well as provide an update on the ongoing appropriations process. I want to thank the Oklahoma Bankers Association for making the trip to Washington and for their continued support for our Oklahoma communities.
I recently met with David Weinad and Clifford Donahue from the Oklahoma Steel and Wire Company in Madill, Oklahoma. They provided an update on the steel wire industry, and we discussed their policy priorities surrounding trade, manufacturing, and the economy. I want to thank David and Clifford for taking the time to meet with me.
Thank you to the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce for making the trip to Washington. We discussed matters relevant to the community such as securing additional funding for K-12 special education programs, promoting economic development in their area, and collaborating on shared objectives to bolster small businesses across the state.
