Oklahoma,

Budget negotiations continue. I'll remain in Washington through the weekend to continue the fight to keep the government open and secure conservative wins for the American people in the process. If this email was forwarded to you, you may subscribe to my e-newsletter here.

It was great to see familiar faces in Washington this week. I had the chance to visit with the Oklahoma Bankers Association and discuss the issues currently affecting the banking industry, as well as provide an update on the ongoing appropriations process. I want to thank the Oklahoma Bankers Association for making the trip to Washington and for their continued support for our Oklahoma communities.

I recently met with David Weinad and Clifford Donahue from the Oklahoma Steel and Wire Company in Madill, Oklahoma. They provided an update on the steel wire industry, and we discussed their policy priorities surrounding trade, manufacturing, and the economy. I want to thank David and Clifford for taking the time to meet with me.

Thank you to the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce for making the trip to Washington. We discussed matters relevant to the community such as securing additional funding for K-12 special education programs, promoting economic development in their area, and collaborating on shared objectives to bolster small businesses across the state.

I'm thrilled to announced that DeQueen and Eastern Railroad (DQE) has been selected to receive up to $11,830,000 million in grant funding through the Resilient Infrastructure & Safety Enhancement Program to strengthen and modernize small freight rail!

Oklahoma communities know best how to use federal dollars, and I’m confident this grant will go a long way to fund track improvements, rehabilitate rural bridges, and modify select grade crossings across Southeast Oklahoma. Click here to read more.

I joined Fox Business’ Liz MacDonald to chat about the Biden family's corrupt business dealings and the need for transparency. Check it out by clicking the link below.

I also spoke with KOCO News 5 this week amidst the looming shutdown and the work we are doing to prevent it. Check it out here

The most meaningful contribution the United States could make to Ukraine's war effort is to restore American energy independence and increase our exports to countries currently dependent on adversaries for oil and gas. And yet, Joe Biden is doing the opposite, undermining U.S. energy independence and giving Russian President Vladimir Putin a crucial assist.

This week, I penned an opinion piece in Newsweek on the issue following the Biden administration's decision to diminish drilling in Alaska. Check it out here
