What makes Emerge different from other political training programs for women?

The big difference is this: We ONLY train Democrats. While many political training programs are nonpartisan, we’re committed to a just, equitable, and truly representative vision for ALL our communities – and Democratic women have a proven record of advancing this crucial fight. 

Why does Emerge’s strategy focus exclusively on women?

This might shock you, but the United States ranks No. 70 in the world for women’s representation at the highest levels of government. Not very impressive. And with women making up only 33 percent of state lawmakers, it’s no surprise our essential rights are under constant attack. The solution is to close the representation gap by empowering MORE women to run and win! 

What makes Emerge’s recruitment and training programs unique?

We train Democratic women of the New American Majority who are running for office RIGHT NOW or preparing to run when the right opportunity arises. That’s how we build a powerful pipeline of changemakers who can step up for their communities in critical races at exactly the right time.

Also, our state-based programs ensure that we have teams on the ground to support our Emerge alums from the minute they decide to run for office, and we stick with them to build a vast network of women who get real results.
